His central takeaway was blunt: the AI supply chain keeps tightening, and most of the day's headlines slot neatly into positions he already holds.
Memory supercycle. The standout for him was Sandisk (SNDK), the NAND flash maker that is a core holding and his template for a structural memory "supercycle" — the thesis that AI demand outstrips supply for years, letting producers lock in multi-year contracts and hike prices. He flagged investor-day margin targets running through 2030 and long-term agreements already covering much of 2028 output, arguing a company guiding revenue that far out no longer looks like a boom-bust cyclical. He extended the point to conventional DRAM, where he expects standard players to benefit as margins climb, and noted that the broader industry — from Nanya to CXMT — is copying the same lock-in playbook.
Packaging and equipment bottlenecks. Serenity hunts for upstream "chokepoints" — critical suppliers with few substitutes. He highlighted commentary that memory and ABF substrate supply will stay tight for years, that Applied Materials (AMAT), a major chip-equipment vendor, sees advanced-packaging revenue growing sharply into 2030, and that probe cards remain fully utilized. All of it reinforces his view that the tooling and packaging layer re-rates alongside the chips.
Photonics / optical interconnect. He returned to his dominant theme: the light sources for co-packaged optics (CPO), where the optical engine sits beside the switch or GPU die. He referenced his earlier week's notes on the CW-laser bottleneck — the continuous-wave light source for silicon photonics — naming Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI), the Texas-based vertically integrated transceiver maker he treats as a Made-in-America laser play; Sivers (SIVE), the tiny Swedish indium-phosphide laser firm that is his single highest-conviction bet as the upstream chokepoint; and Lumentum (LITE), the large-cap incumbent he uses as a quality benchmark.
Hyperscaler ASIC ramps. Serenity connected reports of Microsoft's (MSFT) next custom AI chip lining up large foundry capacity, and Amazon's (AMZN) chip program ramping, to demand for the suppliers underneath them. Both are hyperscalers whose capex he treats as a demand telegraph rather than direct holdings. He singled out Marvell (MRVL), his custom-ASIC and optics play, as a likely beneficiary, and noted Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM), the indispensable foundry he holds as a safe anchor, sits at the center of it all.
Neoclouds and the mega-IPO. On CoreWeave (CRWV) — the debt-heavy AI cloud provider he is structurally bearish on — he offered a rare counterpoint, noting that fresh contracts for older Nvidia (NVDA) A100 GPUs running through 2029 undercut the bear case that these chips depreciate quickly. He also flagged, with a wry tone, weekend chatter around SpaceX (SPCX), whose looming mega-IPO he sees drawing enormous retail and overseas demand.
His summary line captured the mood: the AI supply chain, in his framing, keeps going full-tilt. Nothing today altered his positioning; it simply added evidence to theses already in place.
